Adolph Hanf
Adolph Hanf was a Jewish immigrant from Poland who became a naturalized citizen of the United States and served in the U.S. Army during World War I. After enlisting in 1918, he was deployed to Europe and tragically lost his life during the Battle of Fismes. Hanf was later buried at Arlington National Cemetery, where his gravestone was incorrectly marked with a cross despite his Jewish identity. This error has recently been addressed, allowing for his legacy to be honored appropriately.
