Alaras Karis

Alaras Karis is the President of Estonia, having taken office in 2021. A former director of the Estonian National Museum and a prominent scholar in the field of genetics, he has also served as the rector of both the University of Tartu and the Estonian National Museum. In recent news, he expressed support for the idea of appointing a special European envoy to engage in negotiations with the Kremlin regarding an end to the war in Ukraine.
