Albert Kölliker

Albert Kölliker was a Swiss anatomist and a prominent figure in the development of histology and embryology. He was an early supporter of the reticular theory of the nervous system but later became an advocate for Cajal's discoveries, which significantly advanced the understanding of the structure and function of neurons.
