
Camillo Golgi
An Italian physician and biologist, Camillo Golgi is renowned for his contributions to neuroscience, particularly for developing the Golgi stain, a histological stain that allowed for the visualization of individual neurons. He shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1906 with Santiago Ramón y Cajal, despite their opposing views on the structure of the nervous system.
