Aleksandre Chivadze

Aleksandre Chivadze is a legendary Georgian footballer and former captain of FC Dinamo Tbilisi, celebrated for his exceptional contributions to Georgian and Soviet football. Born on October 26, 1953, he became a key figure in the sport during the late 1970s and 1980s, leading his team to a Soviet championship title in 1978 and a memorable victory in the 1981 European Cup Winners' Cup. Chivadze was also recognized as the Soviet Footballer of the Year in 1980. He represented the Soviet Union national team, earning 46 caps and scoring 3 goals, while also captaining the team in 26 matches. His illustrious career includes participation in the 1980 Olympics and two World Cups, establishing him as one of the greatest Georgian footballers of all time.
