Aleksey Lastovski

Aleksey Lastovski is a Belarusian researcher and avid traveler who has dedicated much of his life to exploring the cultural histories and societies of the world. Since 2005, he has visited nearly 500 UNESCO World Heritage sites across 65 countries, focusing on understanding foreign cultures through their historical landmarks. His travels have taken him to various regions, including the Middle East and Japan, where he seeks to uncover stories related to his home region. Despite the challenges posed by the political situation in Belarus and the limitations of his travel documents, Aleksey continues to combine his work as a researcher with his passion for exploration, all while reflecting on the emotional weight of his nomadic lifestyle.
