Alexander Barsukov

In 2020, Alexander Barsukov served as the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and the head of public security in Belarus. He was noted for his controversial statements regarding the treatment of detainees at the Okrestina detention center, where he insisted that no abuse occurred, despite numerous reports of mistreatment. After being dismissed from his position in November 2020 due to age, he quickly transitioned to a role as an assistant to President Lukashenko in Minsk, later moving on to a parliamentary position in 2024.
