Alexander Novikov
Alexander (Ales) Novikov is a 74-year-old Belarusian political activist and former political prisoner known for his critical stance against both the Belarusian national movement and the regime of Alexander Lukashenko. After spending nearly two years in prison on politically motivated charges, he was released in May 2024. Novikov is the creator of the controversial website 'Litkritika,' which ceased updates in February 2025 amidst reports of his recent arrest and an ongoing legal battle related to defamation.
