Alice Lakwena
Alice Lakwena was a Ugandan spiritual leader and the founder of the Holy Spirit Movement, a rebel group that sought to overthrow the Ugandan government in the late 1980s. Aunt to Joseph Kony, she garnered a following among the Acholi people by claiming to be guided by divine spirits, advocating for a return to traditional values and justice for her people. Her movement laid the groundwork for the subsequent rise of the LRA, though it was ultimately crushed by government forces, leading her to flee and eventually die in exile.
