Joseph Rao Kony
Joseph Rao Kony is a Ugandan warlord and the founder of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), a militant group known for its brutal tactics, including the abduction of children and widespread violence in northern Uganda. Born in 1961, Kony initially served as an altar boy before dropping out of school to become a traditional healer. He rose to infamy in the late 1980s as he took over the Holy Spirit Movement and established the LRA, which aimed to overthrow the Ugandan government. Despite being wanted by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity since 2005, Kony remains at large, with his last known whereabouts speculated to be in the jungles of Central Africa.
