Alice Okwirry

Alice Okwirry is a 50-year-old widow living in Kibera district, Nairobi, Kenya, who has been living with HIV since her diagnosis in 2008. A mother to a 15-year-old daughter, Chichi, who is also HIV-positive, Alice has faced significant challenges due to recent cuts in U.S. foreign aid that have led to a rationing of HIV medications at her local clinic. With supplies now limited to one-month refills, she has expressed deep concern for her and her daughter's health, fearing the consequences of inadequate access to vital antiretroviral drugs.
