Altai Kulginov

Altai Kulginov is a prominent Kazakh politician who served as the Akim (mayor) of Astana from June 13, 2019, to December 8, 2022. He played a significant role in various urban development projects during his tenure, including the controversial Astan LRT project aimed at improving public transportation and reducing traffic congestion in the capital. Following his time as mayor, he became the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Estonia.
