Asan Darbaev

Asan Darbaev has been appointed as the Vice Minister of National Economy in Kazakhstan, as announced on April 9, 2025. Born in 1984 in the Akmolinsk region, he is an alumnus of several prestigious institutions, including Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the University of Warwick under the 'Bolashak' scholarship program. Darbaev began his career in 2005 within the Ministry of Finance and has held various key roles, including Chairman of the Committee for Regulation of Natural Monopolies. His extensive experience in competition policy and state enterprise regulation has positioned him as a significant figure in Kazakhstan's economic governance.
