Amir Salihović is a survivor of the Srebrenica genocide, which occurred in July 1995, where over 8,000 Bosniak men and boys were killed by the forces of the Republic of Srpska. He recently participated as a special guest at a plenary session of the European Parliament, where he spoke out about the importance of remembering the victims of genocide and ensuring that such atrocities never happen again.
