Ana Sokolovic

Ana Sokolovic is a renowned Montreal-based composer originally from Belgrade, celebrated for her innovative contributions to contemporary opera and music. A Juno Award winner, she gained international acclaim for her a cappella opera Svadba – Wedding, which incorporates Balkan influences and has been performed globally. Sokolovic is a professor of composition at Université de Montréal and serves as the artistic director of the Société de musique contemporaine du Québec. Her latest work, Montréal cirque, premiered at a free outdoor concert in Mount Royal Park, celebrating the park's 150th anniversary.
