Andrei Chelistcheff was a Russian émigré who became one of the most influential winemakers in America, particularly in California. Known as the 'father of California winemaking', Chelistcheff's techniques and emphasis on hygiene and quality transformed the industry, leading to the creation of some of the region's finest wines.
