
Andrejs Ģērmanis
Andrejs Ģērmanis was a renowned Latvian painter, graphic artist, and art scholar, born on June 16, 1941. He was celebrated as a master of genre scenes, portraits, landscapes, and still lifes. A graduate of the Janis Rozentals Riga Art School and the Painting Department of the Latvian Academy of Arts, Ģērmanis served as the long-time chairman of the Jūrmala section of the Latvian Artists' Union and had been a member since 1969. He participated in exhibitions across Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Karelia, Germany, Finland, Denmark, and the United States, holding solo exhibitions and showcasing his work in prestigious collections, including the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow and the Latvian National Museum of Art. In 2017, a book celebrating his work was published, featuring around 100 reproductions that highlight his artistic journey.
