He was involved in a significant drug trafficking operation, transporting cocaine from Colombia to the United States using narcosubmarines. Following his surrender to U.S. authorities in January 2021, he was sentenced to 78 months in prison. His illicit activities led to the acquisition of numerous properties and businesses valued at over 72 billion pesos, which are now under investigation for money laundering.
