Andriy Protsenko is a Ukrainian high jumper and an athlete known for his resilience and determination. Born and raised in Kherson, Ukraine, he faced significant challenges during the Russian occupation that began on February 24, 2022. Despite the turmoil, Protsenko adapted to his circumstances, training in makeshift conditions using improvised equipment during the occupation. He achieved remarkable success by winning a bronze medal at the World Athletics Championships in July 2022 with a personal best jump of 2.33 meters.
