Antiochus III
Antiochus III, also known as Antiochus the Great, was a Seleucid king who initially granted the Jews religious freedom after his conquest of Judea, which was later undermined by his son Antiochus IV's oppressive regime, leading to significant unrest and the eventual Maccabean Revolt.
