António Carlos Jobim, commonly known as Tom Jobim, was a Brazilian composer, pianist, and songwriter, who is regarded as one of the primary figures in the creation of the bossa nova genre. His collaboration with singer Elis Regina in the 1970s resulted in some of the most celebrated music in Brazilian history, blending jazz and samba influences.
