Antouaneta Varnava was an employee at the U.S. Embassy in Cyprus who tragically lost her life during the violent outbreak of an anti-American demonstration on August 19, 1974. She was killed alongside Ambassador Roger Davis, making her one of the few known casualties of the attack that highlighted the dangers faced by diplomats in politically unstable regions.
