Aristóteles Sandoval Díaz was a Mexican politician and member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) who served as the Governor of Jalisco from 2013 until 2018. His tenure was marked by efforts to improve public safety and economic development in the state, but he faced significant challenges related to organized crime. Tragically, Sandoval was assassinated in December 2020, an event that raised alarms about the increasing power of drug cartels in Jalisco.
