Armando de Salles Oliveira

Armando de Salles Oliveira (1892-1969) was a significant Brazilian public figure and politician, recognized for his role as the interventor of the State of São Paulo during the Vargas regime. He was also instrumental in the establishment of the University of São Paulo (USP), collaborating closely with the Mesquita family to create a public, free, and pluralistic university aimed at advancing research and societal development in Brazil.
