Arnold Dix

Arnold Dix is an Australian tunnelling expert and the president of the International Tunnelling & Underground Space Association. He gained international attention for his role in the rescue operation of 41 workers trapped in a tunnel collapse in Uttarakhand, India. Arriving on-site eight days after the incident, Dix's engineering expertise was crucial, but he also experienced a profound personal transformation, embracing spiritual beliefs that he had previously dismissed. His unique approach, characterized by a shift from management to hands-on leadership, helped to boost the morale of the rescue team. Following the successful recovery of the trapped workers, Dix has continued to explore the intersection of engineering and spirituality, even studying Sanskrit and reflecting on his experiences in his recent book, 'The Promise.'
