Arshiya Das

Arshiya Das is a remarkable 15-year-old chess prodigy from Tripura, India, who recently made history by becoming the first Woman International Master (WIM) from Northeast India. Her journey in chess began at a young age, sparked by a default game on a laptop, and she has since excelled in various national and international competitions. In addition to winning the Under-15 National Championship in 2022, Arshiya completed her final WIM norm at the 42nd Rudar IM Round Robin tournament in Serbia. Her success signifies a significant shift in the recognition of talent from the Northeast region of India.
