Arthur Brooke
Arthur Brooke was an English poet and playwright in the early 17th century, celebrated for his narrative poem 'The Tragical History of Romeus and Juliet', which is based on Luigi da Porto's earlier work. Brooke's adaptation of the tragic love story contributed to the foundation of the narrative that William Shakespeare would later famously dramatize.
