Luigi da Porto was an Italian novelist and playwright of the early 16th century, best known for his work 'Giulietta e Romeo', which is one of the earliest versions of the Romeo and Juliet story. His narrative drew inspiration from earlier texts, including those of Ksenofont and Masucio Salernitano, shaping the trajectory of tragic love stories in Western literature.
