Aru Shiney-Ajay

Aru Shiney-Ajay is the executive director of the Sunrise Movement, a progressive youth-led organization advocating for environmental and social justice, including the Green New Deal. Shiney-Ajay has a background in activism and community organizing, previously being involved with Students for Justice in Palestine. Recently, she introduced NEA President Becky Pringle during a Zoom event focused on political activism and opposition to the Trump administration's policies.
