Asхат Шахаров
Asхат Шахаров is the akim (mayor) of Aktobe Region in Kazakhstan. He was in the news following a tragic road accident on October 23, 2023, where 12 people lost their lives in a collision between a cargo truck and a passenger van on the Samara-Shymkent highway near the village of Belkopa. Following the incident, Shakharov visited the scene to assess the situation and respond to the unfolding crisis.
