Ashlee Christine Shingoose

Ashlee Christine Shingoose, also known by her spirit name Mashkode Bizhiki’ikwe or Buffalo Woman, was a 30-year-old woman from St. Theresa Point First Nation who tragically became one of the victims of a serial killer in Winnipeg. Her identity remained unknown for years until confirmed in March 2023. Ashlee's life was cut short in March 2022, and her case has gained national attention as authorities conduct a landfill search to recover her remains, aiming to provide closure for her grieving family. Her story highlights the ongoing issues surrounding violence against Indigenous women in Canada.
