Assima

Assima is a 53-year-old Togolese chef who moved to Borgo Mezzanone after losing his job as a translator in Milan. He runs a restaurant specializing in Spaghetti alla Bolognese, finding solace in his culinary work despite the harsh living conditions of the ghetto. Assima, who lost his wife and has two daughters in Togo, feels that the ghetto is the only place where he can live safely without valid documentation.
