Azamat Iskalijev is a 37-year-old Russian man who gained notoriety after being released from prison on the condition of fighting in the Ukraine war, where he had previously served a reduced sentence for murdering his wife. After his return to civilian life, he committed another brutal murder, stabbing his ex-girlfriend over 60 times, leading to a conviction of more than 19 years in prison.
