Over a period of four days, he treated countless patients suffering from severe injuries due to gunfire and shrapnel as clashes between Druze fighters and government forces resulted in a staggering number of casualties. Operating under a pseudonym for fear of retribution, Bahaa described the heartbreaking scenes of death and destruction, as the hospital became overwhelmed with the influx of wounded and deceased individuals, many of whom he recognized personally.
