Barbara Bendler Steinmetz is a Holocaust survivor born in Hungary in 1936. After fleeing from the Nazis, her family eventually settled in the United States in 1945. Living in Colorado since 2005, she participated in a peaceful march to raise awareness about hostages held by Hamas, where she expressed her concerns about rising antisemitism and the need for humanity in society. Recently, she was injured in a violent attack in Boulder, Colorado, which has drawn attention to issues of safety and security for Jewish communities in the area.
