Bernardo Bellotto

Bernardo Bellotto (1722–1780) was an Italian painter renowned for his detailed vedute, or cityscapes, which captured the architectural splendor of various European cities, including Vienna and Dresden. As the nephew of the famous painter Canaletto, Bellotto honed his skills in his uncle's workshop before establishing his own reputation. His works often depicted grand urban landscapes with a focus on realism and perspective, making significant contributions to the genre of vedute during the 18th century.
