Bidya Devi Bhandari
Bidya Devi Bhandari is a prominent Nepalese politician who served as the President of Nepal from 2015 to 2021. She is the first woman to hold this office in the country. Prior to her presidency, Bhandari was an active member of the Communist Party of Nepal and held various ministerial positions. Known for her advocacy for women's rights and social justice, she has played a significant role in Nepalese politics, particularly in promoting peace and stability. Recently, she was in the news for suggesting Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli to unify the communist parties in Nepal during the launch of a book about him.
