Currently serving as a research lead at Meta University of Florida, Dr. Osbourne emphasizes the importance of digital stewardship in preserving Maroon culture and knowledge. At the recent International Charles Town Maroon Conference and Festival, she advocated for the inclusion of Maroon voices in discussions of cultural preservation, warning against the risks of misrepresentation and cultural loss if non-Maroons dominate the narrative. Her focus on user experience (UX) research aims to create digital spaces that reflect Maroon identity and values, ensuring that future generations can engage with and carry forward their rich cultural heritage.
