Celso José Marranzini

Celso José Marranzini is the president of the Unified Council of Electric Distribution Companies (CUED) in the Dominican Republic. Recently, he has been in the news due to a resolution presented by the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD) in the Chamber of Deputies, seeking to interpel him regarding the extensive power outages occurring across the country, some lasting over 12 hours. The resolution aims to hold Marranzini accountable for the electricity crisis and to demand explanations for the outages and the operational issues affecting the Punta Catalina Thermoelectric Plant. His leadership has come under scrutiny as the public protests against the energy shortages have escalated, raising concerns about social stability.
