Chandragupta Maurya
Chandragupta Maurya (c. 340–297 BCE) was the founder of the Maurya Empire in ancient India, which became one of the largest empires on the Indian subcontinent. He was initially a member of the Kshatriya warrior caste and, with the guidance of his mentor Chanakya, overthrew the Nanda Dynasty to establish his own rule. His reign marked significant advancements in administration, economy, and military organization. Chandragupta's legacy continued with his grandson, Ashoka the Great, who further expanded the empire and promoted Buddhism after a transformative experience during the Kalinga War.
