Charles Girard

Charles Girard is a political philosopher and professor at the Jean Moulin University in Lyon, France. His research focuses on democracy and fundamental rights, particularly examining the relationship between freedom of expression and equality of participation in liberal democracies. He authored 'Délibérer entre égaux. Enquête sur l’idéal démocratique' (Vrin, 2019), which explores democratic ideals. Additionally, he oversees the 'L’avocat du diable' collection at Hermann publishing, where several posthumous works of the political philosopher Bernard Manin have been released.
