Chien Lien-kwei

Chien Lien-kwei is a professor of ocean engineering at National Taiwan Ocean University and has served on Taiwan's Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) committee multiple times. He was recently in the news due to his controversial reappointment to the EIA committee, where environmental groups criticized his previous handling of EIA reviews, alleging that he disregarded the opinions of environmental advocates and facilitated government policies that favored construction projects over ecological considerations.
