Choukri Ghanem
Choukri Ghanem was a prominent Libyan politician and the former Minister of Oil under Muammar Gaddafi, serving from 2006 until the fall of the Gaddafi regime in 2011. He was known for his role in the oil sector and was considered a key figure in Libya's economic policies. Ghanem's mysterious death in April 2012 sparked widespread speculation and controversy, particularly regarding the circumstances surrounding it, as he was found dead in the Danube River in Vienna. His notes from 2007, which implicated former French President Nicolas Sarkozy in receiving funds from the Libyan government for his presidential campaign, have come to light in recent legal proceedings, raising questions about political corruption and foreign influence in electoral processes.
