Chris Hani was a South African anti-apartheid activist and leader of the South African Communist Party and Umkhonto we Sizwe, the armed wing of the African National Congress. Hani played a crucial role in the struggle against apartheid and became a symbol of hope for many South Africans. His assassination in 1993 sparked widespread unrest and was a pivotal moment in the country’s transition to democracy.
