Christian Huygens

Christian Huygens was a prominent Dutch astronomer and mathematician, best known for his discovery of Titan, the largest moon of Saturn, on March 25, 1655. He significantly contributed to the field of optics, developing improved telescopes and formulating the law of refraction. Huygens' groundbreaking work on Saturn's rings and his observations were published in his 1659 book, 'Systema Saturnium,' which laid the foundation for future astronomical studies and naming conventions of Saturn's moons.
