Christophe Ralegwindé served as a key ally to Thomas Sankara and was involved in the political changes in Burkina Faso during the 1980s. He was killed on October 15, 1987, in the coup that took Sankara's life. His contributions are memorialized by a street named after him in Ouagadougou.
