Chum Mey is one of the few surviving inmates of the notorious Tuol Sleng prison, also known as S-21, where he was subjected to torture during the Khmer Rouge regime. He recently expressed his joy at the recognition of the prison as a UNESCO World Heritage site, even as it serves as a reminder of the horrific experiences he endured.
