Claudio Brenes

Claudio Brenes is a retired veterinarian who served in the National Animal Health Service of Costa Rica for many years. He chose a permanent income option for his pension in 2019, which allowed him to access only the investment returns. However, after switching to an accelerated income plan in December 2020, he experienced a significant loss in his pension savings, with a reduction of ¢1.3 million by September 2022 due to declines in the ROP investment performance.
