Constantin Ciolacu
Constantin Ciolacu is a Romanian survivor of the Rubla labor camp, established in the 1950s for individuals deemed enemies of the communist regime. Born in Banat, he and his family were forcibly relocated to this desolate area when he was just a year old. Throughout his life in the harsh conditions of Bărăgan, Ciolacu has become a living testament to the sufferings endured by thousands of Romanians during this era of repression. Now in his old age, he lives in a dilapidated house surrounded by memories of a past filled with hardship, yet he maintains a spirit free of hatred towards those who wronged him.
