Consuelo García del Cid

Consuelo García del Cid is a Spanish survivor of the Franco regime's oppressive institutions for women, known for her courageous stand against the recent apologies offered by the Spanish Conference of Religious (CONFER) for the abuses suffered by women in the Patronato de Protección a la Mujer. At 16, she was interned for rebellion and has since become a vocal advocate for truth and justice regarding the mistreatment of women labeled as 'descarriadas' during the dictatorship.
